MG TD TF 1500 - MC missing part ???

Gentleman this is ONE of the numerous questions to follow as my resto progress.

I dismantled my MC to clean and inspect , send it of for resleeving to Mark Frappier with stainless.

I found while dismantling the MC, 1 part was not in the cylinder according to the WSM Section M.1 ( exploded view MC ) The missing part is THE VALVE washer . I have another MC below the bench. Up on inspection it reveiled that one also had no valve washer either. HM.. is this normal ?? if not, where to get such a washer ( not in the catalogues I have )

Thanks for your time,

Gerard

Hi Gerard,
the valve washer is simply a rubber ring that seats the valve body and comes with the new service kit.
After it has been in for years it hardens and feels like the bottom of the cylinder.I have seen TWO fitted because of this.Sharpen an old 1/4" screwdriver and cut it out.
While you are at it check that the recuperation and vent holes fig M2 are clear. The small one is tiny I use fuse wire to clear it.
Before you fit the MC charge it with fluid, the foot valve(valve body) will retain the fluid while you fit. This will prove the cylinder before you fit it

Hi Ray,

Have tried to contact you via PM to no reveal. For the others who have read my question : There are no rubber rings in both master cylinders to be found at all. The repair kit from M also has no rubber ring or better called a Valve washer.
Now what kind of MC's do I have ???
casting number on MC = 25489/2 and 0190 lockheed

I am in the dark here ,

Thanks,

Gerard

Don't bother anymore Guy's .Just learned the seller has not put the "missing part" in the parcel ( and I am not the only one who missed that piece, so he told me )

Hi Gerard,
I am led to believe that using the word DOT rather than the dot itself will reduce my chances of spam.I presume machines are stupid and can't see the similarity.
