Seems like a good price for the seller, based on all the work done. VERY nice crankshaft (Phoenix?)! I do find it interesting, though, that what could have been done more correctly for little or no extra money or effort, was not. Some is obviously owner preference, for which there is indeed a place, such as the wooden dash, the chrome under the bonnet, white-walls, etc.

But I would paint the diff black, get the correct brass round-head screws and square nuts for the ID plates, paint the gas tank ends, and straighten the front bumper. If it were mine I would also get the correct canvas top and side curtains, turn over the threshold plates so they are blank, paint the steering wheel, central dash panel, horns, backing plates and air filter the correct colors, get buffer pads for the rear axle, and re-cover the dash with something that resembles the original Rexine. And, to my eye, the small white-walls need to face inward...

But that's all just my opinion.

I find the value of TDs and TFs depressing. Many who lusted after them in the 50s/60s are no longer with us. My brother who sold his really nice TF a few years ago for £21,000 saw it adverised on an auction site recently with a starting price of £7,000. There were no bids. The drop in prices is not restricted to cars. I have just taken some copper pipe which was removed as part of a central heating upgrade to a local scrap yard. They had bins full of brassware including weighing scales, horse brasses and items highly collectable a few years ago ready to be sent to China for smelting. My wife said I should cut the copper pipe into small lengths and hide it in the refuse bin. I got £250 for it at the scrap yard.
