MG TD TF 1500 - MGTF 7472 Survivor
Rod Brayshaw sent me these pictures from a recent ebay sale I was not aware of. Nice car. http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtf/Pictures/TF7472/Thumbnails/mgtf_tf7472.htm |

Matthew: I changed the text to say a possible repaint since I don't know for certain. Big color difference under the hood from the outside. How does under your hood look compared to this one in color difference? The tank sides are painted correctly which probably would not happen on a repaint. I don't see any places of overspray and if they did repaint, it looks like they took off the 1500 badges and hood latches or masked real good. But that left rear fender looks like its had some damage and not the best repair job if any. Funny thing about the tank sides is once I knew how they were originally painted, that is the way I would expect shoddy jobs to be done :-) |

The firewall shows normal fume staining imho. If it was given a polish then it would look just like the body. The wear to the top of the drivers door seems to show only factory paint. An old paint job would usually show at least minimal evidence of overspray somewhere. Rear fender shows a touch-up using a small brush. The piping has the correct matt finish. I would rate this as factory paint. Matthew. |
