MG TD TF 1500 - MGTF Experts Needed
I have constructed a draft web page of the finishes and colors for the mgtf. I need you TF experts to look it over and send me corrections (or post them here if you think they need to be debated). I started with the MGTD page and deleted the items that did not pertain and added those that I could remember. My detailed knowledge of TF's is 20 years old so forgive me. I have not seriously looked at one in 22 years, let alone restored one since then. http://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgtd/mgtf_finishes.htm When the page has past muster I will add it to the details section of the MGTD site. |

I don't really have anything to contribute to the page, Chris, but I'd like to say I appreciate you taking the time and effort to put it together. It has already helped me with making a color choice on my TF. (black exterior as original, green interior and dash) I don't mean to offend anyone else who has taken the time to put together a TF reference. I notice there is a good links page from Chris's page to other TF pages. Hopefully, the various sources of information can supplement each other. About the only thing about that I can say that it would be very nice for all of the separate registries out there to share data to try and create a worldwide registry that is as complete as possible. Not that I have the time to do it myself, so I can't really ask anyone else to take the time. Thanks again, Mark Barrington |

Mark: Thank you for the comments and I am glad that it was a help. Your thoughts about a worldwide MGTF web site by a number of enthusiasts are right on. In fact I hope to have something to say in this regard in the next few weeks. Stay tuned to this spot. For TFers who would like to contribute some information to a universal TF site please contact me at the address below. Full credit is always given. |

I have to "chime-in" here....I by no means am an "expert" on the TF. Although my love of this car goes back to the 50's....have only been an owner for a couple of years. The information I have found from Mr. Couper and his excellent site has been most helpfull in putting my TF "right"! Thanks again Chris and all the other people on this BBS that have given me your help and advise over the last few years. Maybe if one of us hits the lottery we can give Chris a TF so he will go into the same detail for it that he has done for the TD! There are some of you I had been in contact with who's email address were lost in what I will refer to as "the great crash of the Dec. 2001 back-up in progress".....still have my old email address till the end of Feb. after that I will no longer be using my old dial-up account(srserv@infinet.com) ....broadband has finally come to the country !!! My new email adress is on here so drop me a note so I can get you back into my address book! You reading this LVB? Cheers, David #A1 1955 TF1500 #7427 |
