MG TD TF 1500 - MGTF RADIATOR SHELL LACING
ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA HOW THE RADIATOR SHELL LACING ENDS ARE CONNECTED OR TERMINATED AFTER YOU THREAD THE RUBBER THROUGH THE VARIOUS HOLES IN THE SHELL? I AM A NEW mgtf OWNER. THANKS PA HAWN |

Lacing is just tucked under the holes and is not connected. If you are using new rubber and bought it from MM, its probably the wrong thickness and will not let the bonnet (hood) fit correctly in the front over the rad. shell. I think I do have some strips the correct sixe, email me. |

COLIN THANKS FOR YOUR QUICK ANSWER. THE LACING I PURCHASED WAS FROM ABINGTON SPARES. APPEARS TO BE APPROX 1/32 IN THICK. SINCE THE CAR DID NOT HAVE LACING TO BEGIN WITH I WASN'T SURE WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE. IS THE ABBINGTON SPARES PART CORRECT? THANKS PA HAWN |

A Hawn, The piece I had from MM seemed to work fine and was long enough that after it was threaded into the grille, I was able to bring the ends foward and tuck them between the grille slats and the grille shell so they are not noticable. Good luck and have a good day! John |

Took a scrap of the old one into a "rubber" supplier and they cut me a 10 foot length for $2.50 It was too wide by double so I cut it in half with a razor blade and ended up with a spare. |

The lacing I received from Abington Spares was too thick and the side panels would not pull up flush. If you still have that spare Gordon I would be interesting in purchasing it, or if anyone could tell be where I can find lacing that is thinner than Moss or Abington Spares. Thanks for any help. The rubber lacing should be .050" x .500" wide. If you have some 1/32" or .030" it should work. |

Just sent it out to you this morning... |
