MG TD TF 1500 - MGTF signals
I have ben unable to get the signals working on the mgtf. When I got the car I found out the front running lights had single filament bulb holders and I changed them out with dual filament bulb holders and corrected the wiring. With the signal switch I can activate the relays on both sides of the signal relay box. I double checked the wiring to the flasher and that is wired right. That seems to be the only component that I can't check. Does the positive grounding affect a newer flasher? |

As far as I know all TFs came with a double filament holder in the front running lights. Are there two wires going to each of front running lights? Mike |

Andre, is the flasher relay working at all? Test this first with a single bulb between flasher and ground. Is the flasher connected to the relay box ok, i.e do only the front flashers not work or all 4 ? Modern Relays may have a protection diode that will not work with pos. Ground, but that would provoke a short when connected, so unlikely that you have one of those. If it has conventional relays in the box, these are polarity insensitive and should work either way In any case conversion to neg ground is easy and makes other things much easier, eg connecting a phone charger etc, Good luck Mike |

Andre, If you are not careful, the front light bulbs can be installed 180 deg out of sync, as the lugs on the bulb holders are not offset, allowing the bulbs to be incorrectly positioned. You might want to try rotating one or both bulbs 180 deg to see if this solves your problem. Cheers Phil |

Andre, It's supposed to be warm this week and more daylight hours. I be happy to give you a hand. E-mail me and we'll set something up. |
