MG TD TF 1500 - More distributor questions
I tried to take a better pic of the distributor of my 54TF with the rotor removed. I think the camera I am using is not very good. The pics are not as good as I would like them to be. I am trying to determine the type of distributor so I can instal a pertronix ignition. If you look closely at the pic you will notice a notch in the upper right hand area near where the distributor begins to curve. Is that the determined factor that tells you the type of ignition I need? Also here is a list of items I need to replace before spring. Does anyone have a source for any of these that would less expensive? Ignition switch Brake light swithch Flasher Thanks for any help Bud W. |

Hurts my eyes ....have a "macro" setting on your camera? Or try getting back a bit futher and "crop" it closer on computer...that works with mine sometimes. |

Bud, you should be able to identify the type of distributor cam you have from the attached picture. The part I colored in red is the slot where the notch in the rotor fits. The contours are somewhat difficult to identify at first but the relationship between the contour and the cut out notch will make it clearer to you.
