MG TD TF 1500 - Moss Wiring Loom

I recently started wiring my car. While going through the archives on the subject, I found some conflicting information on where Moss sources their looms, who supplies a good quality loom, etc., etc.

For the record, I ordered my loom from Moss and received what looks to be a very good quality product. I haven't finished wiring the entire car, yet, so the jury is still out. I'm very pleased with what I've seen so far.

I ordered part number 357-060, which is the early loom without turn signals, the separate regulator and fuse box, and braided loom and wires.

Interestlingly, besides Moss' UPC and part number label, the package had a small label that said "Made in England" and a part number ("Product Code 589") that matches the part number used by Autosparks, which is a UK supplier of wiring looms for many classics. Draw your own conclusion.

Note that it could be that Moss uses different suppliers for different looms and/or at different times.

Note also that, as it seems with all suppliers, the dash loom and headlight pigtails need to be ordered separately!

Moss wire loom. Everything fit perfect, the wires were correct color coded and well marked with removable labels. PJ

Dave, I agree with Paul. I used a Moss loom four years ago for my TF and it worked perfectly. I don't recall the part number now, but it was the cloth covered, slick innards. Color coding was perfect.

David, I had the experience as Paul and David. I done mine about six years and everything went perfect.

There were no labels on the wires on mine. Not hard to figure out, though.

Bought one two years ago. It was generally quite good. A few wires on the marker lamps were too long but that's not a hard problem to solve.

The dash harness was too short but I sent them my old one so hopefully they have corrected that by now.
