MG TD TF 1500 - My 1954 MGTF1500 resto finished
Hi all. My 1954 mgtf 1500's 1yr restoration is all but finished. Due to the way the forum is set up,its impossible to do a my resto thread that is easily found and added to! So for anyone who hasnt yet come across me or my car,or anyone who has and wants to see and read more, then hopefully here is a link to the forum where I have managed to keep things up to date with words and pictures. Enjoy. http://www.classicroverforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=12680 |

It will be for sale very soon!! Once ive done its test drives, and sorted any niggles out! And for the right price,it can go anywhere in the world. Had its 1st drive today, and so far alls gone well, just need to bleed and adjust the brakes. youtube clip to follow soon. |

Pilkie, Excellent job. Congratulations. Your car is an inspiration to the resto-plodders of the T Series community like myself. (1 1/2 years and no end in site...) They say you may as well enjoy the journey! Kirk |

Ive enjoyed every minute of it,with very few,if any problems. Slight delay from my painter, and my own laziness from time to time! But ive as good as hit my deadline, and definately didnt want it to drag on,and end up being one of those never ending,or sold on incomplete projects. I can appreciate those who do take years to do a resto have very good reason,as life, family, work and finance all can get in the way. Nuther piccy. Still got to paint the spare wheel! |

Pilkie and J, Care to share the color codes on the twins? Jim |

Mine is RD06 and as close to Autumn red as you can get these days off the shelf, without having a special mix done by analizing an original unblemished sample! |
Pilkie |
What manufacturer is that? |
J E Carroll |
No idea, just went to my local factor, said I want autumn red for MG,he checked codes and did me a small sample pot. I gave it to my painter who did a small sprayout test card,I agreed it was ok,and he ordered it from the paint factor he uses. I know its an early 50/60/70's rover colour! |
Pilkie |
J E, I know computer pictures can be a little deceiving but I think Pilkies color is most likely the same mix as the MGB mix for Damask Red found in the early 70's. A bit more of a burgandy and richer color than the original. Your's picture looks to be closer to the muddier maroon red I found in some hidden spots on my TF. |
