MG TD TF 1500 - Need air cleaners - TD

Anyone out there have pancake style air cleaners like "stellings & Hellings" that are in ehh shape and collecting dust? My TD does not have an air cleaner and the PO cannot locate them yet.

I would love an original but I have yet to find one that does not cost as much as the car.

Anybody have any ideas on what I can do for now? What might fit? I'm looking for a low budget safe solution until I can get the funds up to afford the real deal.

Moss Motors sells reproduction Stellings filters.

I have a set of used Stellines & Hellings filters from the mid sixties sitting in my basement if you want them. They are for 1 1/2 in carbs. With a little modification they could fit a smaller carb. If you think you want them I will Email you a few pictures.

I also have an old set of S&H filters from Moss, but they have corroded and are far from pretty. Replaced them last year with K&N (also from Moss) and have been VERY pleased. had to bend the radiator support rod a bit for clearance, but the car is a driver so it seemed a small sacrifice.

I have a set that are similar to S&H but use a course steel wool type material for filtering. I also have a set of the 2 1/2" smaller filters. I will take some pictures for you. If you want them, they are yours.

Here are pictures of what I have. The small high ones are chrome and have a foam filter inside. They are two piece, the covers come off.

The others are a one piece flat filter with a steel wool like material in them that cannot be removed.

They are polished steel,and could be painted or chromed if someone wanted.
