MG TD TF 1500 - New SU fuel pump fail?
Bought a new electronic positive ground SU fuel pump for my TD restoration. SU part number AUA25EP, Moss part number 377-215. I put power to it and it clicks once and nothing. Yes, I've verified polarity and power to the pump. Is there something I'm missing or is there a quick fix? I'd rather not go through the return process if I can avoid it. |

Sometimes after sitting on the shelf for a period of time the one way valve discs stick closed and need to be removed and freed up. Some carb cleaner might help as well. |

Thanks, John. I checked the one way valve disc, (which I think is the small disc just under the fuel outlet, yes?) and it is moving freely. This pump has never had fuel in it so there is no gunk. It seems it is an electrical problem since the pumps moves the diaphragm once then stops, even with the pump head off. I could try reversing the polarity to see if was just mislabeled, but I'm afraid I'll fry it completely if I do. |

David - Often the SU all electronic fuel pumps have been adjusted too close to the edge and small temperature differences can cause the pump to fail. e-mail me at SUfuelpumps@donobi.net and I can get you back on track. Cheers - Dave |

For anybody else with the same problem, Dave sent me instructions for adjusting my electronic pump. Simple fix and works great now! Thanks Dave! |
