MG TD TF 1500 - New TD in the bay

Nice car but not available for sale in US according to E bay.

It's on the UK Ebay site. Interesting headlights. What is the D emblem on the rear apron represent? I have a hole in mine on the same area but thought it was used by a PO for an antenna.

D is for Deutschland, what the Germans call what we call Germany.
I can't get past those headlights. Our TC was exported to Germany, where all the Lucas lights were removed and replaced with Bosch lights. It still has the Mercedes headlights, but I replaced the rear lights with D lights and it now has the proper running lights on the front fenders. I wonder if the Lucas lights are not legal in Germany?

I was going to enter the "buy it now" price but then I noticed the rear view mirror is not up to standards.

Beautiful car. I would love to own it. I did notice the grab handle is upside down.

Cheers, David

Very nice car. And it looks like the ad is pretty accurate.

Boy, if I had a quarter for every item that is not original on this car. I see it as a silly exercise in how much useless cr*p you can load onto the poor girl. It would cost many thousands to return the car to something resembling original. The text is absolute hyperbole. To each his own; I would be embarrassed to own that car, and the riicule it would (rightly) evoke.

Looks surprised. Or wide-eyed innocent.

Tom, the car is not to my taste, too, but I know that a lot of Germans would consider it a tastefully modified car.

The German text says that all the original items such as wheels and lamps in the same condition as the car are included in the sale, so for that I give high marks.

I couldn't find it,,, must have been taken off????

I'm really impressed that you guys all speak fluent German! Or was it on an English site?

Steve ,
Look for: "View the original listing on eBay and buy this item on eBay Germany" and click on it.
Headlight are "different" to say the least.

Hmmmm...."I know that a lot of Germans would consider it a tastefully modified car."

I think that is where this came from also. Not one of my favorite "cars" ...just one of my favorite "over-the-top" pictures.

Needs more spoilers!

Or more lighting. Lets see that ole Bosch alternator keep up with all that load.

I think I am ammused by this as it reminds me of the 64 Nova wagon I had with a bowling trophy on the hood. (Early 70's ...remember the "rage" with illumanated "fling quale" hood ornaments?) Had a lot if fun with that one ... quartz iode light on a toggle switch to light it up! More than once I left a "Cadlak" sitting at a red light laughing too hard to find the gas pedal.
