Very nice, Rick. Hope to see it at British by the Sea.

David, what's the charge for registering vs. just parking? Bud
Bud Krueger

Bud,
The fee for registering for British By The Sea on Sunday is $15,,,, The fee the State charges for their parking if you are NOT entering British By The Sea is $15 for non Ct Residents,,,,

Rick,,,, great plate !!!

Nice!
Never even thought of trying simply "MG"!
When I got mine I had to submit 3 choices.
MG TF
TF1500
were "taken" so I got:
TF1555
Had a British plate made for front to match.

David Sheward

OBTW: Yes I know the plate holder in back is "wrong" !
Had to re-work it, due to my fat spare, stock did not fit!

This is my TD plate up in Maine. When I first registered it on arrival in 1996. All the other MG combinations were already taken.

The Registration in England in 1976 just before going to Germany in 81 was MGT 95D - I had a moped with this Reg number so asked DMV to swap it to my TD - They did - Original Reg from 1953 was TPE 413.

Got tired of people asking if my TD was a kit car, so I got these.

Bruce Cunha

Bruce,
The "REAL MG" Ohio plate is on ...drum roll please...a vw kit car! I know this because he parked next to me once.

I think the slogan 'SHARE THE JOURNEY' would be very appropriate for this BB for that is what we do! Also, the 'BP' on this plate stands for 'British Product' not Blue Ridge Parkway..

J OSTERGREN

Hi:
My "Vanity" plate came courtesy of the girl in at the Registry. I showed her a picture of my Mini convertible and she said wait a moment and went digging in the pile of Antique Plates.
She came back and said, "I get fired if they knew I did this but that little car has to be A 123 car."
No such luck on the TF.

Not many TD's in Montana, so "50 MGTD" was available as first choice! John
JF HASH

Talk about luck -- I got 52 MG TD and 55 MG TF for my two cars. Was most supprized that they were both available when I went to register the cars. How much luckier could I have been?
Cheers,

I got this reg for my 1970 H reg Triumph TR6 from the DVLA!
Previously it was SCD 770H,so its also named Sid.

And,knowing it was out there, and after a 3yr search found PLK 1E on a V rare RHD 1967 VW Karman Ghia that had been locked away for 26yrs and part,"80%" restored!
I bought the part restored car, recomissioned it to road legal, transferred the plate to my daily driver,my 1971 Rover P6V8 and sold the car for an overall profit giving me a free personal reg.!

I didnt have a chance to buy a plate for the 1954 mgtf1500 before it was sold!

Pilkie

The 1967 VW Karman Ghia I found and then recomissioned after its 26yr sleep in a warm dry garage.

Pilkie

Then ya gotta explain what a TDC is, of course. Tried every other combination I could think of with Missouri DMV - already taken?

Dan Craig

Dan, MK II, Wire Wheels, 8.0:1 Compression, polished ports and chambers, 36mm inlet and 34mm exhaust valves, more valve springs and cam, 1-1/2 SUs, 60BHP@5,500, Andrex shocks and top speed of 85mph??

I don't have a personal plate on either of my MG's, but I do have a unique pair on my 2 Oldsmobiles. The 1902 Curved Dash is the first production model produced (1STOLDS - first Olds), the 2004 Alero is one of the Final 500 cars (222/500) produced by Olds (LSTOLDS - Last Olds). The only other pair that I know of is at the GM Heritage Museum in Michigan - and their cars are not driven.

John Masters

I went with year of manufacture plates on mine.

L E D LaVerne

And these on the TD. Never been out of the original wrappers and quite difficult to come by. They didn't make new plates in 52 which was unique at the time but used the 51 plates supplied a metal tag indicating 1952. The yellow tags are very very hard to come by but were in the packing with these.

Off subject I know, but a per pro of specialised numbers there used to be 2 BRG Minis running around London in the 60s, one with the number UPU 2 and the other FU2. I doubt any motor vehicle licensing department would allow me to put either on any of my cars.
