MG TD TF 1500 - New Wireing
Hello everyone. Just back off a bit of a vacation and back at the TD...many thanks again to all who sent advise on my problems with a poorly fitting hood. I have resolved that problem to my grudging satisfaction. The hood fits, but not perfectly. I went to the Brit cars across the bridge event in PEI while away and it was great. Many beautiful cars, although only 3 T cars. One fellow from Ottawa in a nice yellow TC, drove it down. Very good show if anyone is close next year. The organizers had a great agenda for all the attendees with cars. My latest head scratcher is this...I have installed the front fenders, valance, bumper and headlight etc this weekend and fired up the lights...they come on fine, but the right side is MUCH dimmer than the left. Any ideas?...brand new wiring harness. Not the sealed beams, I switched them and same problem. The dimmer switch doesn't work either, but they may be an unrelated problem. Bad ground on one side perhaps....any suggestions welcomed. Joe Hine 53 TD...going back together and getting close!! Fredericton NB...eastern Canada |

Hi Joe, Yes the first thing to check is that you have a good earth on the side that is dim. Mike. |

Mike is likely right, since the ground is through all of the painted brackets and stuff. Try running a temporary ground wire to the battery ground. If that does no good, the dimmer switch problem may be related- perhaps something not wired correctly, etc. George |

Right you were gentlemen....temp ground wire to the battery makes that light now brighter than the other one...looks like I'll have to do some scraping off of my great paint job on the headlight brackets etc. Joe Hine |
