MG TD TF 1500 - Nice MG History Video

Not specifically about T-Series MG's, but a very nice video about the history of the marque. Have not seen it posted before:

Interesting, however, they pretty much ignored the TF and later midget models.

Ok, one item that they skipped over and I have not heard a lot about.

What did the MG plant produce during WWII? I have heard they had a small military vehicle, but have not found much on that.

If not, did the factory keep going during the War?

...wartime production at MG was why Cecil Kimber was fired.... think management didn't agree with his actions ?

They spent a lot of time repairing Matilda Tanks.

Ian,

In case you didn't recognize the name - Leesa Knudson Hudak; Lisa is the daughter of the Rev. Dr. Dick Knudson, and the co-founder of the New England MG T Register.

Dick did his Doctoral thesis on the MG car whilst studying at Oxford, worked at the factory, and had access to an enormous amount of original data. When the factory closed, Dick became a dumpster diver and rescued much valuable data that would otherwise had gone to the shredders or the incinerators.

Hence the book about the war-time activities of Abingdon. Occasionally it pays to be a pack rat! But Dick maintains a huge library of MG lore and often one will see his articles in the TSO and other motoring publications.
