MG TD TF 1500 - Not a TD.... but close
New stable mate.... 1958 MGA. It doesn't look like much, but it is 98% there. This a classic example of a "Basket Case". 15 years ago a restoration was started at a restoration shop and abandoned by the owner for lack of funds. A new owner bought it and it sat for 6 years, Eventually sold... again it sat untouched until today. I've rescued worse. The restoration shop did a bunch of panel replacements. Except for surface rust, it's now 99% rust free. I've already got a bunch of new/NOS parts on order. I'm hoping the engine doesn't need anything major, but the budget allows for plenty of work if it's needed. I'm thinking British Racing Green. |

MAndrus, could you contact me by email? I want to ask you an unrelated question Thanks Tim TD12524 tburchfi at gmail dot com |

MAndrus, Where in NC are you located? I have a 60 that looks very similar to yours, but the body is off the frame. I took it apart a few years ago and then moved and hope to start putting it back together this fall and might need so "hands-on" assistance. I live just west of Burlington. |

Looks like you have a fun project. I hope you have a good time putting it together. David..... |

Thanks all. My wish list at Moss is at about $1600.00 and growing... slowly. Just the typical reso stuff really - wire harness, dash parts, oil cooler, shifter (cut off just under the threads!?!) I have many dupes and triples of some parts. Dash panels, bumper brackets, 2 sets of nearly unrestorable carbs, but only one headlight bucket. Joe H, just south of Asheville. About 3.5 hours. ....... |

Enjoy your ground up restoration. What is your VIN and date of build? I've just partially completed my 1960 ground up MGA wire wheeled roadster. Now just have to install new engine and gearbox, drop the completed body in place, wire dash, install completed seats, etc.,etc. Remember to fit body to grill, it's very important. I have some original dash spares and an original oil cooler plus many spares and odd ball pieces if you are interested. I've owned about 20 MGA'S Cheers...Barry Cell 778-888-0251 |

Mitch, I guess you needed something to do. I really like the A. My brother had one I drove a lot while he was stationed in San Diego in the 60's. Loved how it did a four wheel drift thru sharp corners at "slow" speeds. I had my '54 TF at the time. Dave |

Dave, Just dropped the return axle off. Yea, too much TV... itching to get out in the shop. ... |

Great looking project car, especially with little rust. I own one and thoroughly enjoy restoring MGAs. I'm sure you will be happy with the car when its done. Good luck with it. Charlie Fairfax Station, VA 703-582-3757 |

I also have a 60 MGA...roadster with wire wheels, early MGB engine. Love that car. I'm thinking it's the most fun driver of my three....A, B, TF. Enjoy the resto. Cheers, Frank |
