MG TD TF 1500 - Oil Filter for ?? Adaptor
A few years ago I attached one of the common oil filter adaptors so that I could use a modern spin-on filter. Problem is I can't remmebr from who ,AS or Moss, I bought it from. I did buy a number of filters at that time, but have used them up. Does anyone know the common interchangable filter (KN Fram etc) which would fit without me having to try a number of different ones or ordering one from each supplier. The filters supplied were white without markings |

John I have the Moss adapter. NAPA filter is 1516. Will cross to just about any other brand as it's a Ford filter. |

I found this cross reference chart on MG experience site: (I use Fram PH3600) http://www.mgexperience.net/article/filters.html |

I use Advanced Auto AA-3600 which is inexpensive and is a color that comes pretty close to that of the engine. Safety? Fast? Scott Ashworth - '54 TF |

Jon, I didn't recall that your engine is late enough to have a horizontal oil filter. Is it? If so, you can't go wrong with the Napa 1515 or 1516. Bud |

Don't buy inexpensive (also - cheeeep) oil filters. You only get what you pay for. The adapter I bought 8 years ago, came with a FRAM PH3600 - an absolute piece of junk. I use only the K&N HP-2009. Sure, they're more expensive but the results show in the colour of the oil at the end of the driving season. Gord Clark Rockbirn, Qué. |

i agree with gord, don't skimp on the quality of filter. regards, tom |

As the filter is horizontal mounted, our oil pumps hold prime better with filters that have anti-drain back valves. FWIW Dallas |
