MG TD TF 1500 - only MG at todays show
53 TD that I never found the owner of. No plates lead me to believe that it was trailered in. Drove my B to the event with a friend who wanted to know what the two holes were for in the top of the bumper. Extra holes in the scuttle, etc. I was hoping for a peek under the bonnet, but it never came open.

Notice the two stove bolts on the pillar. Same one the other side. I'm guessing it was a door latch fix.

And a shot of the dash for those of you that are interested.

Brother in law provided the tickets so here is a shot of his.

If the bumper had two small holes in it on top it was upside down, the holes are on the trailing edge and meant to hold small brackets for mounting the front plate. They arre approximately 15" a[art if memory doesn't fail. Sandy |

Good to see a late Mark II. Not many around with the logos on the hood and chrome radiator slats. My 52 TD Mark II has the same stove bolts just ahead of the doors on both sides of the car. I note that they are in the same relative position on my car as well (lower bolt even with the door handle, upper a few inches above). It has been years since I have removed the inner panel to see what these bolts are for. I have a photo, but it will not download as it is too large to IMAGE. |

John Open the picture in Paint (in you accessories file on a windows pc. Use ther resize under image/skew Downsize the picture and re save it. It will then save to IMAGE. |

Sandy, I knew it was up side down. Kinda matched the rest of the car. |

John, I own a 1952 TD MKII also. I didn't think the chrome radiator slats are correct? And I don't have the two bolts forward of the door. RT 52 TD MKII TD/C 21061 |

RT: See Image below. The chrome radiator slats were only on the later 1953 Mark II's. Mine are red, just like the interior. I have TD/C 18895. John |

John, Usually we just keep fire extinguishers in or near our cars,,, isn't that fire hyrdant in the reflection of your door a bit overkill??? SPW |
Steve Wincze |
Steve: I wondered if anyone would notice the reflection. The fire hydrant is one I picked up at a flea market a few years ago. I have it bolted down next to the traffic signal light in front of the garage. With a garage full of antiques, it seemed appropriate. John |
