Just put your camera on automatic shutter mode and take us about 1000 pictures. We can sort them later :-)
Chris Couper

Don't forget the firewall details, the diff stencil, the under dash tray, generator pulley, side screens, roof webbing, tool kit, dash colour, ... or just do as Chris said. Thank you for the offer.

Steve, I'm interested in any and all you take!

You might want to check on the thickness of the welting. I have been told the TF used 3/8 inch bead...
R Brown

Steve,

Thankyou for your gracious offer.Could you have a close look at the temperature gauge capillary wire after it exits the thermostat housing.
I have heard the coils of this wire originally were tied together with leather
thonging?

Cheers.

R.B. 3/8 or 9mm is correct going by the original piping I have.

I have registered for the TF Survivor.

As many of you know, I am the only and original owner of my TF that I bought new from the dealer in Montreal in 1954. I will have the bill of sale with me to show.

My TF is unrestored, original paint, original upholstery and original muffler ... even after over 300,000 miles. It's original only in appearance, and tatty.

I'm afraid that my TF is the antithesis of a show car. So be sure to give it a big guffaw when you see it.

It has many non-original mods, most of which I had to change. But to look at the car, it looks quite original. The registration form requires a colour. So I put "Patina Red with Original Rust". The paint has come off one rear fender and is showing a wee bit of rust. My car is driven every day when the weather allows, often with the windscreen down, like today.

It has made separate trips to Pebble Beach races in 1957 via Route 66 - no Interstate in those days, Vancouver BC, The F1 race at Sebring in 1959 again via US1 - no Interstate, 2 trips to the Canadian Maritimes, MG International in Gatlinburg, TN in 2006 and dozens of trips between 100 and 500 miles including many GOFs.

I don't believe that a car that's been repainted to ANY degree, or re-upholstered, represents the spirit of the event, however as I indicated to Dave Sander, winning is of less importance to me, than the 300 mile drive (yes, even in the rain), and schmoozing with other MG owners.

Steve, I have learned tody from David, that the low milage TF that you have referred to, will not be able to make it.

Gordon,
Sorry to hear that the car will not be there,,,, let's talk about the photos when we get there,,,

Rod,
I'll do a search for Leather Thonging on all of the cars, throughout the hotel and the Oneonta area,,,

It will be a great help and probably answer a lot of questions when Chris can get the TF page up and running! Thank you Chris for the offer, we know it will be quite a task, but appreciated by all TF owners. PJ
Paul sr

Paul,
I believe the TF page has been up and running for quite a while.

Actually ...there are a couple of folks on the home page that I haven't heard from in some time that used to be on this site quite a bit.
Art & Jeff .....you still out there?
At one time I believe one or both of them had "list" of TF's.
David Sheward

I have once again started refreshing the TF pages. Matthew and I were doing most of the content and I had too many other tasks and a tech issue for years keeping me from it.

Anyone can send content to me to be posted and I will try to get to it asap. Right now most of the updates will take place this winter, but send it now so its in the queue.

BTW the TD site has seen lots of updates over the last month and soon I will announce its refresh.

One item that is available right now on both sites is a refreshed list of paint formulas and color swatches.

See another post about a need for dash formulas.
Chris Couper

Hi All,

Congratulatons David S on your timely and salient comment-
"I believe the TF page has been up and running for quite a while)".Matthew Magilton's(Australia) input and knowledge on TF originality is quite fantastic! The site has been used by many over a number of years.

Cheers.

my emails to you at that email address are bouncing back...

Regarding your request... I don't mind at all...
If you need larger images i can provide....but the shots on my page are a fair size?

Chris Couper's site was how I found this one years ago!
Actually found it before I bought the TF....and the info there kept me from buying a few others.
A good 2/3's of the books I acquired on the car I bought after seeing them on there as well.

Glad to hear you (Chris) are going to have the time to do some updates.

A big thank~you from me, and I'm sure from many in years to come for putting so much information in one easy to use place.

Cheers,
David

Gordon: Thanks. I will work on the pages this weekend. I have already captured the images from your site. Excellent work.

I think the photos are the perfect size for the web.

BTW the owner of the original 1951 TD I have pictures of has offered to take a few more as well so we are starting to amass a lot of original images.

Not sure why my email is bouncing back but did notice that this AM I had received no email since last night which we all know in this day and age is tantamount to a system problem. Its a US holiday this weekend so that means I may be email-less until Tuesday.
Chris Couper

Steve, sorry that I cannot bring TF6688 to the survivor Challenge, but its just to far a trip. i am sure everyone would love to see our car. I plan to send about 80 pictures to Chris, if I can figure out to get them out of my Adobe Photo Album.
Give me a list of what you need and an email address.
