MG TD TF 1500 - OT - Maybe RHD is the answer
For the past year, or so, it's become difficult to get my left foot into Lazarus. I've had to resort to reaching over with my right hand and lifting my left foot over the threshold. If all goes as planned that will be fixed tomorrow with a bit of a suspension modification. I having my left knee replaced tomorrow morning. But, there also is the option of turning Lazarus into a RHD TD. I don't think he'd like that. In reality, my right knee isn't anything to brag about. And, they won't be 82 years old until the 25th. Cheers, Bud |

At least its not an MG J2. See post #2 on the J2 for sale thread. You know those stair-lift seats, maybe you get one fitted to the garage to drop you into the MG? (Sorry, bad sense of humour). Matthew. |

"fixed tomorrow with a bit of a suspension modification. I'm having my left knee replaced tomorrow morning." Best of luck, Bud. Hopefully, the new parts are not coming from Moss or AS. :-) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Hope all goes well Bud, My nephew who is 49 years of age had both knees done in January and walks today perfectly. The doctors couldn't get over how quickly he recuperated, however it was due to his physio treatment and his consistent exercising. All the best. John |

Hi Bud, Just read this thread now so I guess you are finished and up and about. Bring us all up to date. Fredda had her right knee replaced at 75 and has was playing ball, dancing, bowling and power walking within weeks. I still have trouble keeping up with her. She is non stop. When I get in the TD I put my right leg in and sit. Then I scoot my rear end in as far as I can. I get it partially over the hand brake and handbrake tunnel. It makes it much easier to get the left leg in with minimal knee bending. Mort |

Hi, Folks, sorry to be so long in getting back. Couldn't really be up to responding on what was showing up o the key strokes. Narcotic pain killers can give some odd results. First couple of days I was doing some pain killing that I'm still into. I still can't recall where those folks showed up from. I was probably holding my self at about an 8 out of 10 for B/S. I'll also answer some more tomorrow. Bud |

Bud - As the say in the Marines - "Get up Marine, you're not hurt". Welcome to the 2017 class of the British car enthusiasts cyborgs. Had my shoulder replaced last year and just sent a fuel pump back to a Jaguar owner who just got new hip. It is truly amazing what medical wonders that they come up with year. Cheers - Dave |

Thanks, Steve. Doris appreciates your remarks. The problem that comes into play is the need to stay ahead of the pain that occurs with the recovery. I can't guess how much longer I'll be on narcotics. It was one week ago today that my left knee was replaced. In spite of daily physical therapy I'm still a long ways from having the knee function back in operation. The best that I can do is to bend my left knee enough to get into the rear seat of our Prius. And, here's what I see. After the surgery it's covered over with 'saran wrap' for a couple of weeks. Bud

Narcotics never relieve my pain, Motrin and Toradol work much better. Narcotics just make me sick. Doctors have become upset because I refuse to take narcotics. You should be over the hump, and be in less pain than you were pre-op soon. Best of luck to you, here's to a speedy recovery! Be well, David |
