Dallas, Thank you for your thoughtfulness by providing others of us in the MG Family some insight regarding Mr. Linney's life. Obviously, those of you who knew him were very fond of him, profited by calling him friend, picking his brain for car info, and enjoyed his company. Jerry |

These people are disapearing fast, get all the info from them as fast as you can before they are gone. They are our last touch with the people who built our wonderful cars. Cheers, Bob |

I'm not sure and I could be very wrong, but I think it was Mr. Linney and his wife that were at the 2006 MG show in Gatlinbug and looked at the wifes newly restored 72 MGB. He must have walked around it 3 or 4 times. Very distinguished looking couple, very British, him suit and her dressed most elegantly, they looked like they just came from a wedding using wedding cars tonbridge, unusual at a car show around here. The gentleman was an engineer that worked at the Abington plant during production. He told us that our car was the most correct 72 there and why wasn't it in the concourse line? I opened the trunk and showed him we carpeted it, thus making it unqualified. His wife even commented that the car was lovely, in that beautiful British accent. My only regret is, I didn't take a picture of them. PJ |

Thank you for the posting Dallas. I do remember briefly talking to the person PJ posted about at Gatlinburg, hope that was Mr. Linney It is as important for us to spend a little time remembering those that have assisted in making our hobby what it is as it is for us to keep our cars out there. |
