MG TD TF 1500 - Pedal Box

I just replaced the bushing in my brake pedal.
One of the machine screws holding the access plate to the box was missing.
I need some help identifying the screw. It is a 1.00 pitch and between a 6mm and a 7mm. It is not a 1/4 or a 5/16.

Mort - Seems to me that should be a 1/4 - 26 BSF screw. The only place that metric fasteners are used in the T series cars is the engine and transmission. Cheers - Dave

Mort, Just curious, but is it the one in the lower front corner? Mine was missing and I had to tack weld a 1/4 26 BSF, (like Dave said), nut in there. Bad enough if the tub is off, but if the tub is in place, probably be like a blind man doing heart surgery. (Grin). PJ

Dave , That sounds like the right size and PJ's answer supports it. Do you know a good source for small quantities? I just need the one screw about 14 to 16 mm long.

PJ, Mine has the nut tacked in the front lower so I don't have that problem. I am just missing one of the others.

Gentlemen, Google just helped me find British Fasteners,

https://www.britishfasteners.com

I have ordered a small supply.

Thanks again

Mort, That's where I'm getting mine. I just bought a some BSF taps and dies from them and they seem like very nice people to deal with. (So far), maybe I'm a little pessimistic until further dealings. I'll have a large bolt order coming up when ever I can get back to the car. Spring is coming and that means a ton of work outside to get things looking proper. The car can wait! PJ

Mort if it is convenient while working on the pedal box, can you measure the total movement of the master cylinder plunger (180-320)(forward and back)? Or the amount of movement of the bottom of the brake pedal arm where the clevis for the plunger fits in? TIA
