MG TD TF 1500 - Preferred Vendors
Who do you recommend as preferred vendors for TD parts? I'm starting to get ready for my MGTD restoration. I have the Moss and Abingdon Spares catalogs. Any other suggestions? The car needs everything. |

Ira - Check out the following suppliers: O'Connor Classic http://www.oconnorclassics.com/index.html Shadetree Motors http://www.shadetreemotors.com/ Brown & Gammons www.ukmgparts.com NTG http://www.g-vis.co.uk/NTGservices/details.htm The last two are in England and therefore a bit pricey on shipping, but they have some of the harder to find parts. Good luck - Dave |

I have used Moss and Abingdon for 25 years. Outstanding service from both. Sometimes you buy depending on what is on sale, the one thing you need is out of stock from one, etc. Abingdon has more in the way of individual tiny parts (fuel pump parts, distributor springs, etc.), and more made in England/NOS/used things. Example- my head and rear main caps were cracked, and they have used ones. Also things like turn signal lenses are new Lucas, rather than Taiwan repros. In spite of what some feel, most parts for a TD are really cheap compared to those for any modern car. |

Also try John Kimble, Kimble Engineering In the U.K. For a front anti-roll bar-sway bar; try Andy Jennings {MGB] he has an advert. banner at the top of these pages. For nuts & bolts use metric & multi standard Elmsford N.Y.[metric & whitworth] or your local fastener company. First & foremost join the NEMGTR, & find a local MG Guru. And a Professional machine shop/engine builder.I'm just finishing my TD, total rebuild of running gear. Feel free to e mail me for specific info. Len |
