MG TD TF 1500 - Production Record Question.
If Mr. Burdette's car is number TF8805 and a build date of 10-1-55, I wonder how come my car number TF8353 with a build date of 12-17-54? Are they saying that only that only 452 cars were built in approximately 11 months? Anyone know a starting number/ending number? PJ |

I thought MGA's were introduced mid-1955? All of my references are at home, will check later. George |

Production of TFs is said to have ended in April 1955 http://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgtf/mgtf_VIN.htm |

The T Type Restoration Handbook of NEMGTR shows the following in its Production Dates list: HDA 13/TF501 on Sept. 17, 1953 numbers continuing consecutively through HDC 46/5946 on May 31, 1954 then jumps to /8644 on Jan 4, 1955 and then to /10100 4 Apr, 1955 Bud |

Bud, I just looked up the info, thanks for posting it already. I looked up TF 8805 on the Register page, and it says " 10-Jan-1955", not 10-1-55. Mystery solved. George |

Thanks for the clarification. PJ |

It was the date format that threw me off. Looked like October 1st, 1955. Never could understand why the day was put before the month. We always say the month day and year when using it in a conversation! At least I always have. PJ |

UK Date Format is DD / MM / YY US Date Format is MM / DD / YY I try to avoid such confusion on the T-Database at ttypes.org by listing all dates in their full format. But even then, we'd say 1st October, whereas over the pond you'd say January 1st..! |

*Or even - we'd say 1st October, whereas over the pond you'd say October 1st! |
