Who/what/where is Tripple C. Re your smoke picture, where did you obtain the plug holder and what is the black box under the voltage regulator.

Triple C sells parts & accessories...good prices on Lucas stuff and "T" shirts and coffee cups, mouse pads, of Izzy...my TF.

The plug holder either came from Abingdon Spares or a UK seller ...had it so long can't remember but was sold as an accessory for older "T" cars.
Black box is turn signal relays.
Still trying to stuff the smoke back in that 35amp fuse!
