MG TD TF 1500 - Real reason for vapor lock

I had a 1976 MG midget that would vapor lock in the summer running down the interstate at 65 mph! I replaced the fuel pump and the electric pump someone had previously installed up front and it would still stop pumping in hot weather. I finally moved the electric pump to the back near the tank and solved the problem. I think the problem was the tiny fuel line; of course it was a midget:)
