MG TD TF 1500 - Rear Telescopic Shocks
Having converted my '64 B to run with Koni telescopic rear shocks I would like to do the same with my TF. Unfortunatly, there does'nt seem to be a suitable Koni unit manufactured for TF use and I therefore wonder if anyone has used an equivalent Spax / Munroe (or other) and if so, what is the part number? Any help in this direction would make my co-driver a very happy gal!! |

I mounted a cross-member between the original shock mounts and used Monroe shocks for a Maverick angled at about 45 degrees. Worked OK, but if the real problem is the discomfort of your co-driver due to the harsh ride, I don't think different shocks will change anything. The leaf springs are too stiff. You might try Doug Jackson at mgbmga.com for composite rear springs. |

I have been looking for some time for details on the same conversion. A friend of mine has fitted a period set to his TF and they work fine. The problem is that he has painted them together with the identification markings!!. I will se if I can get him to remove one for measurements to be taken. On the question of a possible harsh ride Konis are adjustable. |
