BEAUTIFUL! GREAT WORK! But I don't see any smoke from the exhaust, or a smile on your face behind the wheel :) Thanks for posting! Len |

Thanks.
Sad to say but 2 years after the restoration there's no exhaust smoke and (knock on wood) she doesn't drip any oil (standard rear seal). I failed to mention in my original post but many thanks to the following who provided much assistance: Tom Lange (who provided some key parts and much needed guidance) Len Fanelli (love those roller cams) Steve Wincze (both on the forum and IRL as he lives close by and let me study his TD for details) Plus all of the contributors to this forum who's posts I poured through seeking advice. It truly takes village to keep these cars going. |

Nice work! Must feel very rewarding getting to this point. |

That was a nice summary and great work by you in the restoration. Was that an MGA steering wheel you started with? Don't believe I have seen a TD with one before. |
Christopher Couper |
Yeah it came with an MGA wheel. Got the TD wheel (and lots of other bits) off ebay. I still have the wheel if anyone needs it.
More details: I have matching MGA carbs (still using them). The engine is a factory replacement 1500 cc which is nice. It came with an oval head which really didn't work well. Got a correct one off the shelf from Abington Spares (really sad they left CT). I added an upgraded differential, turn signals, temp gauge (to the left of the steering wheel). The grill, valve cover and wheels are all powder coated. I rebuilt the andrex shocks. Made the wooden disks out of mahogany. Soaked them in heavy weight oil for 3 months. They're set loose so they don't actually work but they shouldn't seize up either. I added a clutch pedal stop pin, brake relay kit Roller cams as I mentioned. Exhaust manifold coated Engine machine work done by Leifert in Torrington, CT Transmission rebuilt and rear end by Quantum Mechanics Generator redone by Joe's Auto Electric in Middletown, CT Rocker Arm Specialists did the rockers Advanced distributors rebuild the distributor Mark Frappier for stainless lining of brake MC Peter at Wide World rebuilt shocks |

Great job on the restoration and the video. I will have to give that a try with my resto photos. What program did you use to create it? |

Thanks! I used iMovie on my iPad. Couldn’t have been simpler. |
