MG TD TF 1500 - RHD Production Numbers

Does anyone know what the production number were for RHD MG TF 1250 For England and Export?

I would contact Barrie Jones, the MGCC TF Registrar. If anyone knows it would be Barrie.

It's possible that Clausager might have searched the production records to get the figure you want, but the only way I see is to go through every entry in the production records and look for 1's, 2's or 5's in the Specs column. The ledger entries are arranged by VIN number, but since the cars were completed in batches by color (not by spec), it's time consuming - 3 left hand US green cars will be built with 2 right hand UK green cars, next to 7 RHD export cars. Same color "1" cars were often built with the same color "2" cars, so that's a help, but the lines in the 900-odd pages of production records don't always line up obviously with the VIN numbers.

Since there about 10,000 TFs, to do this research is a pretty big order... Ill see if I can do it if nobody else has. It won't be perfect, because my copies are third generation copies, and some of the digits and letters are indistinct, some have been corrected, and some are just too faint.

Clausager has already published these. See P99 of "The Original MG T Series":
RHD 1250 Home market 813.
RHD 1250 Export 1,206.
(Complete cars only).
Around half of these export cars came to Australia.

Glad to hear it!

Thanks Guys, just trying to figure out what data I have to get the proper chassis no. my plate is gone.
DCD Durlin

Can you read the number on the chassis rail?
The colour code can be figured out by looking up your chassis number in "Production Records" on the T Register website, which will also give you the engine number.

If you have the chassis number (or need more info where it can be found), let me know - I can provide you with a copy of the original production record for your car.
