MG TD TF 1500 - Sacred Octagon mags

Cheers all. I was just wondering what, if any, value there is for these? I have a few from years past and see them once in a while at shows for sale. I don't watch EBAY, don't know if they show up there or not. Should I be on the lookout for these and start collecting the old issues? Thanks. FOG

The first thing I would do is to watch eBay and see if they turn up there or not. Good way to see if they are there and if so what they are selling for.

I threw all mine away after buying the DVD that has all the tech articles. I really didn't see any value to hanging on to them for what was mostly reporting on people I didn't know and events I didn't attend. There was some nice photography and occasionally interesting articles on MG history, etc., but I knew I'd probably never read them again.

I do see single issues for sale on eBay, but no idea whether they sold or for how much. When I used to get the magazine, there were occasionally ads to sell or give collections away, but not for any significant money.

Hello Frank, it's been a while since your last post as I recall. I can't give you many exacts, maybe others can but here is what I am finding. Old back issues are still in demand as new people get T-series cars and we are now seeing some younger new blood. AAMOF, I am still looking for single copies myself that NEMGTR are out of (they were still selling some back issues). Like David, many issues have been throw out or destroyed, a real shame. S/O was the heart of the group and the magazine was a work of art. I see them on EBAY once in a while and have bought several in the last year but pristine copies don't exist, well worn is mostly what you find. As far as you collecting them, if you have space and want to read good tech articles, yes would be my suggestion.

As I mentioned, I am still looking for several issues. If you have any for sale, please contact me at WallbangerTF1500@gmail.com and I will email my needs list. TIA Harvey

Lots of great art quality photography in there over the years as well as great info. CD goes through 2004 I think, so save issues after that. Digital car magazines just don't fly in my opinion! George

I just checked eBay and the mag is not a hot seller. As most items on eBay the price ranged from 1.99 to 6.99 with none selling. When grouped, like three years worth, they sold for $49.99. I've kept all my old issues and enjoy just reading them again once and a while. I agree with all the comments above. Great photos and the tech articles can sometimes be just what your looking for.

I'm a real pack-rat. If it looks like it has value. I keep it. You should see some of the car stuff I should'a trowed out! I have a good set of 356 Porsche literature up to the 901. Just never got around to throwing it out.

I joined the NEMGTR in the first year and so have a complete set and that included the old purple, Address-O-Graph copies written and produced by the late Frank Churchill.

In the next few years, I plan to give these back to the NEMGTR so they can auction them for the Knudson-Churchill Scholarship. But don't hold yer breath. I'm still using them for research.

VERY interesting subject & feedback. I have been watching and buying SO issues for about five years now, mostly at car shows and swap meets, from private owners. Many are in excellent condition, others are WELL read and some abused. I think they don't sell one at a time on EBAY because of the outrageous postage at USPS. How can you sell one for $2.00 when it costs $5.00 to send it. I agree with everything that has been said above and will add there is a big underground demand for back issues, just try to buy them at a swap meet. My advise, find a dry corner and keep them, they are a valuable part of T-Series history. Sam

The NEMGTR has virtually all of the back issues for sale, the ones that are down to one issue can be reproduced at the regular rate of only $5.00 per issue. Please contact me at dasanderATaolDOTcom for assistance.
