MG TD TF 1500 - screw size for turn signal relay box?
Anyone know/guess what the screw size that fits the 52TD turn signal relay box (missing 2 of the 8 screws)? Tried a 4mm metric but no go. The only info I could find in archives was a reference to "The machine screws (instrument panel, electrics) are mostly 2BA (nearly 10/32) and 4 BA. These are derived from a Swiss Metric Standard used in watches. They have a 47 degree thread angle." AS has a 2BA x 1/4" "earthing screw" (35 027c) for the fuel pump that look likes might be about the size. Moss does not have any reference. Any US distributors for BA screws? Thanks Randy |

Randy - As I remember, the screws are in fact a 2BA. You can check this by trying the ground screw from your fuel pump and see if it will thread into the turn signal relay terminal. If I remember correctly, the screws on the relay terminals are a round head screw, whereas the ground screw on the fuel pump is a cheese head screw. If you confirm that the screw is 2BA, you can get them from British Tools & Fasteners at: http://www.britishfasteners.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc Cheers - Dave |
