MG TD TF 1500 - Seat bottom mounting hinge
Does anyone have an idea about why there are hinges at the front of the seat mounting frame/slide assembly? Mark Sherman |

I'm assuming you are speaking of a TF. That allows you to swing the seat forward for better access to the rear of the seat. Especially when you are installing the toneau cover. I think the real reason is to get to the loose change that falls out of your pocket. Dan H. |

Good day Mark! So you can vacuum, of course? Also it could be like the seat on a farm tractor, they tilt forward to let the water run off? Hope this helps, John |

Think they are on the TD runners as well (if i remember correctly).... right by the bolt through the floor. Considering the size of the cockpit, it always amazes me i have the amount of adjustment i have.... tilted seat back, sliding seat bottom and movable steering wheel... Hmmm.... everything is as far back as it can go, and the wheel forward and its still a tight fit!!!! The '53 Brit Designers must have all been 5'4" |
