MG TD TF 1500 - seat foam
I am after the thickness of the foam for the seat, and does it taper off to a smaller thickness when comes to and covers the plywood riser. |

The foam in the Moss "FOAM CUSHION SET (seat bottom)" #640-348 that I received last week is 3-1/2" thick. It is not tapered. Here are three links that may help ... http://www3.sympatico.ca/gordonblawson/td/seat/seat.html http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtf/mgtf_tf_seats.htm http://www.ttalk.info/MGTFSeatRecovering.html (Download the three .pdf files at upper right corner of page) One of the links noted that the Moss foam is not firm enough. I am also looking for tips on installing the Moss foam bottom and the Moss "SPRING ASS'Y, seatback" #456-645 for my '55 TF. I want to install new foam, seat back springs, repair/rebuild the wood frames, and reuse the existing seat covers and hardware. Lonnie TF7211 |

Many thanks Lonnie for the information. Exactly what I was after. John |

If your seat cushions are still there but have lost their firmness you can try this. At least there are some pictures to help you too. http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtd/mgtd_seat_padding.htm |

Thanks Chris, unfortunately there was no foam at all so I had no reference point to start with. I do now, with the help from Lonnie and yourself. John |
