MG TD TF 1500 - SFT462 Fog Lamp

I acquired a pair of Lucas SFT 462 fog lamps w/King of the Road emblems. Don't know whether I'll mount one or two, or keep my current SFT576 & SLR576 Fog/driving lamps on and sell one or both of these. I'll worry about that later.

For now, I note in the Lucas Master Catalog that there is a "Junction box" associated with the SFT462. According to the details, it is a "4 grub screw" type. Can someone enlighten me as to the function of the Junction box?

Also, as there is no SLR (Driving Lamp) version of the 462, what was the period correct (1953) driving lamp model, IF there was one offered?

Thanks for any input,

Larry

Larry,
Isn't this "junction box" a connector to wire-up the foglight onto the main wiring loom ?
My Lucas catalogue gives only a very small and unclear drawing of the component and a part number which is 770002.

Regarding the number of foglights fitted see the other thread.
I thought that the Lucas SFT/SLR 576 range is slightly younger: MG TF > onwards.
A period correct driving lamp could be the model fitted to Triumph Tr 2's (Lucas SLR 700???)
Hope this helps...
Cheers,

Nick, 52TD.

Are the Lucas Flamethrower lamps (SLR 700) period correct for the TD? I have a pair with black painted backs that would look great on my black TD. Thanks for your imput. Sure would love to have a 462 on my TD, however.

My Lucas catalog doesn't picture the junction box, it just lists it. All the other junction boxes listed are large (2" +) round with 2, 4 or 6 grub screws. I'm sure it is just a connector of sorts. My catalog lists the SFT462 as the "correct" lamp for the '51-53 MG midget. It does not list a driving lamp for that period.
