MG TD TF 1500 - Side Lamps in the UK

I have a couple of Lucas, tripod headlamps but they have holes for sidelamp bulbs. Could I use these in the UK and wire the lamps on top of the wings solely as flashing indicators?

Jan, I think probably not because the side lights would be too far from the edge of the wings. This would not give anyone approaching from the front an appreciation of the width of the car.
