MG TD TF 1500 - Snap Connectors - Headlights & Pkng Lights - TF
I can't find any photos that show the type of snap connectors used at the engine side panels to connect the bullets on the headlights and the parking light pigtails to the wiring harness. Were all bullets connected with single sleeve connectors? Were some of them multiple isolated and common connectors? Thanks, Lonnie TF7211 |

Lonnie,
Two(2) five way isolated connectors are used. One(1) for each of the two(2) side panels. A clip on each side panel holds the wiring (black/orange flecked cotton covered) which lead to the five way isolated 'bundles. Of course, the black earth wires emanating from these parts of the harness are actually attached to the side panels.(one to each side panel). As you know, a thorough clean off of the side panel paint where the earth tab affixes to the side panels,is a good make sure. BTW, the parking light wiring is also held up under the front guard/ 1130 parking light body area, with an open, half loop clip(painted black). I use a split rubber grommet (2 per front guard) in the metal loops which support both the headlight and parking light harness. This grommet is the same one which supports the Tachometer cable as it goes through the 'twisted' clip located on the front of the bulkhead flange. I am not 100% sure if this was done originally in with regard to the metal loops under the front guards. TF9052 has a long, split rolling protective sleeve in this area however I have never seen this on any other untouched TF. Cheers Rob Grantham TF3719("Aramis"),TF9177("Athos"). |

Thanks Rob, That is exactly the information that I need. I'm helping assemble a TF for a seriously ill club member. The wiring harness in my TF restoration will be installed months from now. My thanks to you, Frank Cronin, and George Butz for answering my TF harness questions. Lonnie TF7211 |
