MG TD TF 1500 - Speedometer cable - routing below floor
On the subject of speedometer routing, I have taken the floorboards up and the route of the speedometer cable is shown on the attached photo. The bend as the cable comes out of the transmission looks very sharp to me. On a LHD vechile presumably the cable would have more room and would run along the inside of the chassis member. Should the cable go between the brake master cylinder and the frame? There looks to be sufficient space, although I am not sure it will be able to get past the peddle box. Matt.

Matt, check out this restoration site it may help some. Looks like the cable is routed between the brake box and frame. Mike http://web.mac.com/rcolwell1/Site/Gallery/Pages/MGTD_Restoration.html#33 |

Matt, I'm pretty sure that's how it goes. I think there is a "P" clip on the forward corner on one of the petal box cover plate nuts. Dan H. |
