MG TD TF 1500 - steering column chrome?

The outer 8-10 inches of my outer TD steering column appears to have been chromed at some point. I don't remember that is was, and can't find in a reference book. Any thoughts on whether this was originaly chromed or not? Thanks, George

Hmmm,
That's interesting George. According to all the T-type historians, only the prototype and/or pre-production TD's had a chrome finished steering column.
