MG TD TF 1500 - Steering wheel shaft

Hey all, does anyone know the sequence of assembly for the steering wheel shaft? Where does the distance piece go? Thanks, Tom

Oops, I meant distance tube, not piece. Tom

The only piece referred to as a distance piece looks like it fits between the ends of the clamp; perhaps to avoid over-tightening? it's #17 in the photo.

Tom, the distance tube goes around the splined shaft, under the spring cover. See Abingdon Spares Page 23. Bud
