MG TD TF 1500 - Stellings&Hellings Pancake Filters- Success!

For those of you out there with Stellings&Hellings "pancake" filters I have found a paper filter to replace the original foam filter. It is NAPA Gold P/N 2372 (I believe the application is for a lawn/garden tractor). The filter is 4.39" O.D. and 1.59" high and fits with some minor trimming of the rubber gasket on the bottom to clear the cover bracket, and a slightly longer bolt to hold the chrome cover (I had one in my workshop that fit perfectly after I cut the head off).

I put the filter in the Stellings&Hellings holder, closed the bonnet (hood if you prefer), with just enough clearance.

Needless to say, my foam filters are now gone.

Also, I checked with the folks at K&N and they have a filter of the same approximate dimensions (1.5" vs. NAPA 1.59") that should fit - P/N E-4380. The price for the K&N is about $26 at Autozone, the NAPA filter is $4.25.
