MG TD TF 1500 - T Series Suppliers
I have been compiling a list of suppliers of parts and service but it is by no means complete. I do recall mentioned here that someone has already done this. Could someone remind me of the existing list? TIA, Mort |

Bud, I just sent you an email to please add me to the list for the 4.3 conversions and the new Half Shafts. Thanks, Dave |

Hello Jim. Please add me to the list I am doing the items that Phil Marino provided, he has retired, along with the items I was doing before I picked up Phil's business. Those items are oil pump rebuilding, carb rebuilding, differential conversions and the conversion box that goes onto the transmission to correct the speedometer. An adapter that goes onto the gas tank in the TC and TD's so you can add a electric pump at the rear to prevent vaporlock without cutting the fuel line. Phil's parts that I do are manufacture the spin-on oil filter adapters for both the early and late oil pumps, gear box holding tool, new TC master cylinders, the long TC master cylinder nut. I also repair stripped carb float bowl attachment threads, sleeve carb throats back to size, water pumps, tachometer reduction gear boxes, and make new internals for the pre-war petrol reserve valve. Butch, do you redo the water pumps for the TD using 6 vanes or just the original 4? |
Tom Maine (TD8105) |
Hello Tom. I will do it either way. I have the bronze impellers. Butch |

Thanks Butch. Does the 6 blade make a difference in the cooling? |
Tom Maine (TD8105) |
Hello Tom. It does help. I didn't boil when going across the desert and getting into Las Vegas when it was 115 degrees. But, I made sure all the other details were taken care of, timing, carbs, valve clearance, large core radiator, 5 blade datsun fan, etc. One of the biggest problems I have seen on many cars is that to make the car look "good" the slates on the radiator have been set too closed, this is a major restriction on air flow. I opened mine up a bit have not had a problem. I get an occasional bubbling when coming off a fast run comming up the hills on the freeway and stop at the off ramp, it doesn't happen if I keep the rpms up a bitto keep the flow going. Butch |

Butch, Which model Datsun is the 5 bladed fan from? Thanks, Gene |
Gene Gillam |
Hello Gene. I'm sorry I don't know the year, I picked it up at a pick-a-part junk yard 15-20 years ago. I also had to put it on a lathe and turn down the diameter. On my Y I'm going to use the MGB 6 blade. I've attached a picture of it the fan is a bit out of focus because I was shooting the pulley for someone else. Butch |
