MG TD TF 1500 - TD 28690 is alive!
I want to thank this site for all of the help that I have gotten during the last year. I've had 28690 for 18 years intending to use it as a retirement project. Finally got around to working on it 1 1/2 years ago with the intention of restoring it from the ground up and re-doing all of the stuff that the DPO's had done in the past. I've been doing a frame off restoration under the guidance of a fellow who has a couple of Grand National winners. Finally got the rolling chassis done a while back and have been nervous about starting it up 'cause of all of the horror stories related to this and that. After watching Dave's website and using the other Dave's rebuilt fuel pump The Day arrived. After hooking up temporary wiring and discovering that I had it timed for the #4 cylnder and not #1, it fired right up. She's alive after being dead for so long. Now I just have about another 600 hours to finish the rest of the body and paint etc. but I have renewed interest in the rest of the labor. I gues that I'll turn the frame shop into a body shop now. Thanks again for the help to everyone. Mark |

Mark, congratulations with this milestone. You will notice a complete different set of smells in your garage now she has been running. Its oil and petrol will turn the place into a real MG garage now. Enjoy the rest of your project and greetings, Huib |

Hey, great news. Sounds like the project is both sucessful and enjoyable for you! And Huib is right, nothing like the smells of an MG in the garage. warmly, dave |

That is always a great feeling, and even better when you have oil pressure, no major leaks or a fire! George |
