MG TD TF 1500 - TD Air cleaner canister conversion

Somewhere on-line I recently came across an article written by an enthusiast who converted his TD air cleaner canister to accept a K&N air filter. He showed pictures of how he did it and gave the part number for the K&N filter that had the right height and dimensions to fit inside the modified cover. For the life of me I can't remember where I stumbled onto this article and can't find it again! Does anyone know what I'm talking about and if so, could you send me the link to this article or information?

Sorry I can't remember that one. But many people have switched to using 'pancake' filters on their TDs as the intake manifold is so restrictive, and a search on archives should bring those up. You can put aftermarket round pancakes on, or switch to 'Volkes' filters which I believe were standard on TDs. I added filters from Ram-Air in the UK which I am very happy with. In any case, they are all improvements over the standard... my TD is much happier without the intake manifold!
