MG TD TF 1500 - TD/c-8151
Progress has been slow since the temps have dropped into the low 50°s. I bought a battery and plumbed the carbs to the pumps, installed a fresh 40162 distributor and wires. All I’ve left to do is hotwire the pumps, ign and starter then twist her tail and let her come back to life after a 50+ year slumber.
Spent the last week cleaning the best used radiator shell I have. I media blasted the slats and painted them with Rustoleum 2X Apple Red. I think they both came out well. I will order a new shell eventually as all the chrome pieces for the car have been replated. Purchased a beautifully refinished 15” motolita and hub. The steering column has been assembled and is now ready for installion I have now completed the restoration of two Arnolt heaters for this car and TD-4834. I have the right door disassembled to be blasted and powder coated. The left is yet to be taken apart. New timbers from Craig Seabrook and Abingdon Spares are ready once the panels return. Once completed and fitted back onto the tub it will be ready to be painted SSG Bill Chasser TD/c-8151 |

Looking good Bill. Looking forward to see your version of SSG. I change my mind about the future color of my car every day it seems. Tim TD26711 |

Thanks Tim. I may be rethinking my own formula. I’ve had several members of various sites provide their formulas and one spray out card. I will be heading back to Jerry’s Paint for a consultation and see about getting another gallon mixed. Though my mix is darn close to what was provided to the shop, the paint was in very poor condition and quite thin. Any attempts to find a suitable spot to rub out resulted in the black primer showing through.
Between Bruce Cunha and his quest for Sun Bronze and mine for Silver Streak Gray we both are giving Jerry’s Paint some rare colors to try and work with. Bill Chasser TD/c-8151 |

I've painted my MGB and TD12524 black. The nice thing is no one argues that it doesn't match the original MG paint lol. But the problem with black is that it gets dusty and dirty immediately after you wash and wax it. That's why I'm going with BRG this time, I think. Best of luck with SSG and happy New Year.
