MG TD TF 1500 - TD headlamps - replacement
My 1951 MG TD's headlamp just went out, first time for me. It looks like it has a Wagner 6014 sealed bulb. It is a 50w bulb. I'm looking at the workshop manual and it doesn't really list any 50w item, but 36w at the max. Is there a recommended item I should buy as a replacement? Thanks, Joe. |

The 6014 works fine - much better than a 36 watt bulb (Remember this is a spec for a fifty + year old light bulb). Better still get the 6014 version of the Sylvania silverstar halagon bulb. it draws the same amount of current, but puts out a much brighter light. Cheers - Dave |

I got halogens from Moss that I believe were within the wattage limit (35) and reasonably priced. Much better lighting. It might have been the Sylvania mentioned above. |

Joe, Dave DuBois is spot-on. He is reccommending the 6014 replacement bulb, wheras I prefer the Sylvania Silverstar sealed beam H6024ST as a perfect replacement. Available just about everywhere. I replaced my fancy tripods with them. They are white and bright and my generator will handle them at anything above an idle. Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |
