MG TD TF 1500 - TD2MkII fuel pumps

Anyone have a photo of the bracket that holds the two pumps? Am making one up and know that they are offset over and down a certain amount....?

Speaking of MKIIs...is this really one?

In a word, NO! Plus I don't know what ID number he is showing, but it's not a TD number.

Two different mounting brackets, Gordon. Original location on one pump-second on a bracket beside tool box. Have a pic on my home computer-will send tonite. Not a big deal to make. This pic only shows the line bracket on the front support - might help with line routing. Did you recieve your fittings yet? Dan

Gordon is this what you looking for?

Dallas - I would love to have a high-quality print-out of the Mark II brochure; can I pay you to have one made for me? Thanks. Tom

Thanks all for the photos....I should never post a request an hour before I go into the shop to build something!
I see by the photo the basic fuel pump mount, with an extra bend in it, is mounted to the firewall....
I made an aluminum bracket that bolts up to the original pump mount on the tool box and extends out the side....I positioned the one pump lower, but not back....might have fuel line routing issues...not sure?
Dan, the package is at the parcel service and I will try and get over this afternoon.....
Will post a photo after I install the thing....not going to hook it up till the new carbs are on, but figured its a pretty good place for a spare fuel pump.....!

That was fairly easy....

Tom, the photo is one that is on Chris Couper's MGTD site, which has been a great help to many of us over the years.
This is the same resolution that is on the website, and it has been scanned in four pages, as it folded open.
I do not have an original brochure, but would be glad to give you a scan if I did.

Thanks for letting me know the source. You're right, it is useful, although corrections Couper has been sent have never been made in the website.

Still looking for an original Mark II brochure...

GBLawson That picture shows the twin fuel pumps OK but the carbs are 1 1/4in. not 1 1/2in. as they should be for a Mk.II. I got the mounting bracket and rubber pieces for my second fuel pump from Moss. Then with some pictures of original Mk II's I mounted it and piped it. Now I run with just one pump connected to 12 volts. Saved my a*s several times as the sludge got loosend in the tank and one pump crapped out. Just changed the wire to the other pump and off we went.
Cheers,

Are you referring to the eBay listing...didn't see any twin fuel pumps on it as well as small carbs?
gblawson(gordon- TD27667)

Gordon Lawson The real indicator is the lump in the right side of the bonnet(hood). This car has it and it has the badges on the bonnet also. Didn't see enough of the rear bumper to see if it had the plinth and badge on that and the reflectors. The Luvax shocks are also a good sign that the car came from Abingdon as a MkII.

Are you looking to make your TD perform like a MkII?
Sincerely,
Bob

For the short term I just wanted a little more power...the larger valves and larger carbs should give me a tad more...
Down the road, I want to keep the stock engine and switch to the 1500 block.... will put the head (large carbs) on that engine....
gblawson(gordon- TD27667)

As to my above comment that the car is not a Mark II, I stand completely corrected - it is. The seller has forwarded me the s/n, which is indeed a TD/C with the original TD3 engine. No word about whether the Andri are there. but the carbs are 1-1/4s.
