MG TD TF 1500 - TF aftermarket air filters
Does anyone, like K&N, make an air filter for a TF? They (K&N)haven't responded to my e-mail. Given that there is little room even for stock filters, it sure would be nice to have something else. I understand the the Moss pancake filters have other problems like not enough air flow and elements getting sucked down in the engine. |

Suggest you see the Pancake Filter thread of a few days ago. You could try the K&N's which worked for me on the 1.5" SU's on my TD. Whether or not they'd fit under the hood of a TF is an open question. If they didn't you could send them back. Another suggestion is to send K&N the $5 for their catalog; there're a lot of specs and measurements which might help you make a selection. Maybe you could find a K&N filter element which could be chopped, modified, etc to fit the stock TF cleaners. Good luck. |

Mike, I had a K&N pancake style filter on a Jet-ski about 8 years ago. It had a clamp mount like a radiator hose clamp. It was installed over a velocity stack which mounted to the carb. I picked it up in a motorcyle/jetski shop. I would assume they still make them... Good luck! Evan |
