MG TD TF 1500 - TF Details
What was the original finish of the TF accelerator pedal linkage (the piece with the roller on it)? As I was bead blasting it appeared to be plated. Also, was the engine steady cad plated or painted? Just trying to get it right. Dan H. |

The accelerator pedal rod and wood roller are painted black. The engine steady is both cad plate on the hex section and nuts, but the rod end is painted black. We have a 54TF unrestored. |

Colin, Thank you. I would love to see your car as I put mine back together but Michigan is a little far from home. I do have some other questions that you may be able to help me with. As I dismantled my car, and took a ton of photographs for reference, I noticed some things that just didn't seem right. Did the domes of the horns face up or down? Also I noticed that the triangular shaped side radiator shrouds were painted car color (almond green metalic)on my car. All "restored" TF's that I have seen were painted black along with the radiator in that area. If your car is untouched in that area you may have the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. |

The domes of the horns face up. All the parts attaced to the radiator were painted black. The body parts were painted body color, stuff that was added, radiator, etc., and all its parts were black,. |

I in the the process of installing upholstery in a 54 TF found here in Anchorage. Previous owner ripped everything out and then had the audacity to up and die. Can someone help me with pictures (or sources) of how to bring the side curtain compartment, carpet, and upholstery together? Thanks. |
