MG TD TF 1500 - TF Directional Indicator Light Stays On!

I have a situation that seems like a small deal with a simple fix but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I replaced the wiring in my '54 TF with a new harness from Moss and a dash sub harness from British Wiring. Everything is working as it should except for the dash directional indicator light that is staying on after the switch cuts off. Somehow the light is getting constant power instead of through the flasher and shutting off when the switch cancels. The factory wiring diagram calls for a light green wire from the flasher to the light and that's how I wired it. So what did I do wrong? Besides being able to follow a wiring schematic and screw things together I'm as dumb as a rock when it comes to understanding electrics. I'm thinking of disconnecting the light green wire that's in the harness and run a test wire from the flasher to the dash light. I'm lost!
Any suggestions? Thanks!

So, I just by-passed the light green wire (in the harness) and connected a wire from the flasher to the dash light and the dash light didn't even flash. So I re-connected the wire in the harness back to the flasher and dash light and now the dash light doesn't flash any longer! The lights flash as they should but not the dash light.
I think I need some dinner and sleep and hopefully some help from you guys!

First rule of T wiring is to check all of your grounds.

Am I correct thinking that if all the lights are working including the head lights, parking, directional, license plate, dash and warning lights that the grounds are good? The only light that is not working is the dash signal light but was an hour ago.
(I might have screwed it up when I by-passed the light green harness wire and ran a test wire from the flasher directly to the dash light.)
I'm also not to happy with the signal switch as it sloppy and loose. As it's shutting off it causes the relay to click up and down a few times before stopping.
It seems I have a few things going on and that's why I feel like I'm chasing my tail. I need to correct one thing at a time then move on to the next until it's all working.
So, any suggestions as to where I should start, and how? Thanks, Lou

Some flashers are 'hot all the time' and the dash light is on when the switch is off and blinks out of sequence with the turn signals. The Wagner 550 comes to mind. I have a semi electronic EL-13 from NAPA which seems to solve the problem.

As I said, when it comes to electric stuff I'm as dumb as a rock! Well to confirm my statement I'll share with you what my problem was. It was as simple as.... I had the white power wire disconnected from the fuel pump so it wouldn't continually pump from a dry tank. Once I realized it and re-connected the wire, closing the circuit, everything began working as it should. The lights are lighting and the signals are signaling!
So, I can now make sure everything is tight then bolt the gauge panel to the dash. Once that's done I have a short list of minor tasks to finish up then off to the upholstery shop. Hooray!

I forgot to mention that the directional indicator warning light socket had a weak ground so I scraped the back of the gauge panel before I re-installed the socket and light. A good ground and a closed circuit was the answer.
Dave, thanks for the semi electronic flasher info. I might pick one up the next time I'm in a NAPA store.

Attached is the car as it sits in the garage. Almost on the road!

I can see the ground but I am not certain why connecting the white wire to the fuel pump makes your turn indicator flash.

You should check the wires to your fuse block or maybe your flasher. Maybe your fuse is faulty?

Basically if you have power to the flasher and it flashes, the P side should go to your indicator. The green wire is just the fused white wire.

The light green wire from the P flasher should go only to the indicator.
