MG TD TF 1500 - TF Headlight Switch - how to clean
Is it possible to EASILY clean the contacts in the headlight switch in my TF? The switch gets warm after I drive for a while with the lights on. Not halogen. No relay. Lonnie TF7211 |

Lonnie, as you know, a relay takes all the pressure off of that and other switches, well worthwhile installing. As for cleaning internally, not sure. PJ |

I have ordered LEDs for my driving/fog lamps so I will not be using relays, but will fuse the supply with a 5A fuse. I understand that the LEDs draw less than 1Amp each so should not be a big issue as I am installing all new wiring/switches. Peter |

Switch cleaner from Maplin. Spray it into the switch and it works a treat. Jan T |

Here in the US, you can get electrical contact cleaner from many sources. My latest can came from Home Depot. |

Thanks guys. I'll use some cleaner now, then remove the switch and clean some more when I take the car apart to paint. Lonnie TF7211 |
